Features

Opportunity intel built for small contractors, not enterprise BD teams.

The big platforms charge five figures a year and assume you have a capture department. GovScout assumes you have a CAGE code and a Tuesday afternoon.

Incumbent intel on every recompete (Pro)

One click on any opportunity shows who holds the work today: current contractor, dollars obligated and ceiling, when the contract expires, whether it was set aside and for whom, the incumbent's size and socio-economic status, how many offers competed, and how many times the requirement has been awarded before. Built from free FPDS award data — the federal system of record — matched on contracting-office code, agency, NAICS and title. Because that matching is heuristic, every result carries a high/medium/low confidence rating with the reason it matched, and a link to the official FPDS award record (via USAspending) so you can confirm it yourself before you shape a bid around it.

SAM registration expiry monitoring (status free · alerts Pro)

The most common way small contractors lose an award isn't a weak proposal — it's a lapsed SAM.gov registration. Free accounts get the guard: GovScout reads your registration's expiration date and shows a green/amber/red status with the exact date on your dashboard every time you sign in. Pro adds the alarm: emails 60, 30, and 10 days out and again if it lapses, each with a renewal checklist. Renewals take weeks; the alerts land while there's still time.

AI response drafter (Pro)

The documents small contractors write every week — sources-sought/RFI responses, notice-tailored capability statements, CPARS-style past-performance write-ups, and cover letters — drafted in seconds. GovScout assembles the draft only from your saved SAM profile, capability statement, pursuit data, and real FPDS award history; it never invents past performance or contract facts — anything it can't verify becomes a [FILL IN] marker for you to complete. Edit in place, export to Word, drafts saved to the pursuit. Pro includes 5 drafts a month, Team 15 (shared).

CAGE-code onboarding

No forms, no questionnaires. Enter your 5-character CAGE code and GovScout pulls your SAM.gov registration — legal name, NAICS codes, size status, and location — and builds your match profile automatically.

Set-aside intelligence

GovScout knows the difference between an 8(a) set-aside, an 8(a) sole-source signal, WOSB, EDWOSB, HUBZone, and SDVOSB. You only see notices you're actually eligible to win — including the sources-sought notices where set-aside decisions get made.

Live SAM.gov data

Search results come straight from SAM.gov's contract opportunities database — the same source of record contracting officers use, matched to your profile and sorted by response deadline.

Saved profile & one-click re-runs

Your CAGE, NAICS codes, and set-aside certifications persist in your account. Come back tomorrow, and your matched feed is one click away.

Capture CRM (Pro)

A CRM built for government pursuits, not generic sales. Add pursuits from SAM.gov or anywhere else (RFIs, GSA eBuy, agency portals), then drag them across a visual pipeline board from Watching → Pursuing → Submitted → Won, with deadline countdowns that turn amber and red, bid/no-bid decisions, estimated value and win probability, next actions, contracting-officer contacts, and running notes. Pipeline value and win rate at the top — your weekly capture meeting on one screen.

Daily digest & reminders (Pro)

Every morning: new notices matching your NAICS codes and set-asides posted since yesterday, plus active pursuits with a deadline or next action coming due (choose 1, 3, 7, or 14 days' notice). Never miss a sources-sought window again.

Capability Statement Builder (Pro)

The one document every contractor needs — built in minutes. GovScout pre-fills your company name, CAGE, UEI, NAICS codes, certifications, and address from your SAM.gov registration; you add competencies, differentiators, past performance, and a POC. Live preview, your brand color, and a clean one-page PDF ready for a sources-sought response, an industry day, or a CO's inbox. Edit and re-export anytime.

Team pipeline (Team)

Invite up to 4 colleagues to one shared board. Everyone stars, drags, and annotates the same pursuits, and the activity log shows who did what — the BD lead sees the PM's update the moment it happens. One company profile, one shared pipeline — built for a firm with a capture team. (Advisors and consultants who run capture for several clients need one workspace per client; that tier is on the roadmap — email hello@usegovscout.com if that's you.)

State & local portals

Federal is only part of the picture. Your dashboard includes a curated directory of state procurement portals — automatically matched to your registered business address — plus the major nationwide bid platforms (DemandStar, BidNet Direct, Bonfire, Public Purchase). Add your own city or county bid pages, and suggest portals for the public directory. Live in-feed local solicitations are rolling out next.
